A family tradition, with a spark
Trail of Joy grew out of something our family already loved doing β regularly donating to our neighborhood food pantry. Along the way, our kids started noticing just how fortunate they are, and how much they wanted to help other kids who aren't as lucky. That spark of gratitude, and the wish to share it, is exactly how Trail of Joy began.
Growing the trail, one year at a time
In 2023, that spark became a backpack and school supply drive for new refugee families, in partnership with the Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society Early Years Refugee Programs. In 2024, the trail stretched across the ocean to Tunasan, Muntinlupa City in the Philippines, gathering supplies and clothing for underprivileged families working to resettle and rebuild.
Welcoming new families home
Trail of Joy is returning to its roots, once again partnering with the Immigrant Services Society of BC to help refugee families with school supplies for the new school year β so newly arrived kids can start feeling ready and welcome.
